The temp gauge is recommended when heating the RockTablet over a fire. Its not necessary to use when heating over the stove top.

Yes, you can heat the RockTablet on an electric or gas stove top including glass tops. However you cannot heat the RockTablet over and induction stovetop.

Yes! RockPot® has double walled lining so while your food is cooking on the inside, it's safe to touch on the outside.

Since the RockPot® is 7.5 quarts so it can cook food for up to 6 or more people depending on the meal.

Heating the RockTablet® for 30 mins on a high heat over the stovetop will have the RockTablet at around 450- 500 degrees. When heating over a fire, the RockTablet® can reach 800+ degrees. The RockTablet® can handle a tremendous amount of heat. Always use your hook to handle the RockTablet®.
