Two minutes. Everything you need to know about heating, cooking, and using the RockPot system.
Pick your heat source
The RockPot works the same way regardless of how you heat it. Stovetop in the kitchen, fire on the trail.
Heating the RockTablet on a stovetop
Works on propane, butane, electric coil, and glass cooktops. Not compatible with induction.
1 Set the RockTablet on high heat
Place the RockTablet on your burner. Set the heat to high. Position the inner cooking pot on the RockTablet with your uncooked food inside, and leave it for 30 minutes.
≈ 30 min2 Move the RockTablet into the RockPot
Use the included hook to lift the heated RockTablet. Drop it into the bottom of the RockPot, then place the inner cooking pot on top.
30 seconds3 Latch the lid and walk away
Close and latch the lid. The insulated walls hold heat for 9+ hours. Outside stays touch-safe — bring it on any outing.
Up to 9 hrsUse the hook every time you handle the RockTablet.
Heating the RockTablet over an open fire
Burn wood above and below the RockTablet for fast, even heat.
1 Build a fire around the RockTablet
Use the extendable hook to place the RockTablet in the center of your campfire and periodically cover it with firewood over the 30-minute heating period.
≈ 25-30 min2 Load the RockPot
After 30 minutes (or once the black soot burns off), use the extendable hook to transfer the RockTablet from your campfire into the vessel.
1 min check3 Move it into the RockPot
Immediately follow the RockTablet up with the cooking pot and glass lid, then latch the vessel lid. Cooks for 3-8 hours.
30 secondsAlways use the hook. Never touch the RockTablet directly.

Why heat retention changes everything
The RockTablet is a patented thermal mass made from premium stone in Utah. Once heated, it stores energy and releases it slowly, maintaining a cooking temperature for hours without an external power source.
That's how the RockPot cooks meals on a lake, a trailhead, or the back of a truck. No propane. No batteries. No flare-ups. Just stored heat doing the work.
From slow-braised meals to morning eggs
The RockPot handles low-and-slow comfort food, weeknight one-pot dinners, and weekend campfire cooking all in the same vessel.

Safety, care & the one step you can't skip
The RockPot is built to take serious heat. Use the hook, never touch the RockTablet, and you'll get a lifetime out of it.
Safety tips
Always use the hook
The RockTablet is extremely hot when heated. Never touch it with bare hands or oven mitts; always use the included hook to move it.
Stovetop ≠ induction
Gas, electric, and glass cooktops all work. Induction does not work with the RockTablet.
Outside is touch-safe
The double-walled exterior stays safe to touch and carry. That's by design.
Care & cleaning
Dishwasher safe (except the RockTablet)
Inner pot, lid, and accessories are dishwasher safe. The RockTablet itself should not go in the dishwasher.
Cool the RockTablet on a heat-safe surface
If needing to remove the RockTablet after cooking, use the hook to set the RockTablet on a heat-safe trivet or rack. Let it cool fully before storing.
Wipe the RockTablet, don't soak it
Once cool, wipe the RockTablet clean with a damp cloth. Avoid submerging or soaking it.
Store dry
Make sure all components are fully dry before storing. Keep the RockPot, RockTablet, and accessories in a dry place.
FAQ's
Real questions from real customers.
Can I heat the RockTablet on a flat glass stovetop?
Yes — you can heat the RockTablet on an electric or gas stovetop, including glass tops. The RockTablet does not work on induction stovetops.
Can I touch the outside of the cooker while it's cooking?
Yes. The RockPot has a double-walled lining. While your food is cooking inside, the outside stays safe to touch — even when the RockTablet is at 800°F.
How do I prevent my food from overcooking?
Think of the RockPot as a cooking appliance. You'll know when your food is done. The cook times match the oven, stovetop, or slow cooker.
Example: Chicken breast cooks in 10–15 minutes in the RockPot.
Once your food is done, lift the RockTablet out with the hook and set it aside to cool. Place the cooked food back in the RockPot to stay warm for hours.
How much food can the RockPot cook?
The RockPot Original is 7.5 quarts — enough to feed 6+ people depending on the meal. The RockPot Mini (4 quarts) is sized for 1–3 people.
What about warranty?
The RockPot comes with a lifetime warranty. If something fails under normal use, we'll replace it.
